Well, it seems to be beyond dispute that the surge is working, and Iraq is stabilizing. Seems like Al Queda became too brutal, even to people who believed in its goals, and as a result it's on the way out and Americans are appreciated for their role in same.
What do you think happens next?

D, I'm not sure what to think at this point concerning
Iraq being stabilized. It's very troublesome to hear
that missles are raining down inside the green zone.
We can only hope that this could be the insurgents
last gasp at control.

I think there was an old saying by Chairman Mao that a revolutionary is like a fish who glides around among the people and can use their hospitality to hide from the enemy. Once he loses the people's support he is lost.
That's happening in Iraq and that's certainly a positive sign.
The missiles you refer to are probably coming from Iran. The Sadarist movement seems to be splitting between vicious elements and people who don't want to fight anymore. Even the leader doesn't want to fight! Strange.
But the missiles continue to come, apparently from the Sadarites. They say that they are just tests and more is to come, but I think that's the usual Arab exaggerated bravado.
Looks like the Green Zone needs a missile defense system - hopefully one can be put into place. As I remember the Patriot missiles have a pretty good record at making short work of attacking missiles.
