How many of us made New Years Resolutions?
I did.I do plan on starting on my excercise
programs again and eat healthy.I don't like to use
the word diet because it kind of plays with your
mind so I'll use the word eating healthy.Most of
Michigan people are overweight.I for one. The only
one that can do something about it is ourselves.It
seems like almost everytime we try to eat healthy
someone has to shove food in our faces ( fatty foods)
How can anybody say no to Hostess orange cupcakes,
uuuummmmmm.I just love them.If anybody wants to
work together for moral support I'm with ya all the way.

One thing I've noticed is that a little high quality chocolate, like a Lindt Lindor dark chocolate, goes a lot further than the cheap chocolates most of us buy. I can have one piece of the Lindor in the blue rectangular package that goes for about $2, and I'm satisfied. A single piece is only 29 calories, and so it looks pretty good compared to wolfing a 200 calorie candy bar.
So think of eating higher quality. Cook more of your own food than convenience foods. Many of them are absolutely horrible for you, and yet you can cook better tasting meals on your own.
I cook my own Chinese food and it takes about 10 minutes of preparation per meal, which is not that much longer than it takes for the microwave to beep or the frozen pizza to cook.
I have lost weight since doing that (from about 260 to 240), and I embarked on it about a year ago. So I can tell you that eating high quality definitely helps a lot.
The sad thing is that people notice my weight loss but to me I look about the same as I've always looked, which is not exactly a morale booster.
Research says that you have your own natural weight that your body wants to maintain. This is why it's extremely hard to lose weight. I thought this link (via Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit) might be of interest. Secrets of Weight Loss.
