Pet Cockatoo adopts bowl of Cadbury Creme Eggs

Check out this story, where a pet Cockatoo adopted a bowl of Cadbury Creme Eggs!

What would you do if you were the bird's owner?

The link you gave us didn't work, so I couldn't read the article. But birds do sometimes pick things other than real eggs to brood -- Cricket once brooded a toy until I took it away from her.

If I were the owner, I would decrease the number of eggs every day, and eventually throw them all away...

What did the article say?

That's too bad the article link failed so quickly.

Here's my original source for the article, which at least has an excerpt:

The owner seems rather upset. Let's hope he gets good advice on what to do. Your idea seems pretty good.

But why wouldn't you eat them instead of throwing them away? Do they go bad that easily?

I suppose you could eat them, as long as they were still clean. They might also be partially melted.

Ah, I was afraid of that. Yes, from the bird sitting on them they might be melted. I think that particular type of egg melts pretty easily.

Of course the ones on the bottom should be OK.

So what else is new in your flock? It would be nice to keep this topic going again for a while.

My flock are all doing fine. Joey has learned a couple of new words, or at least has begun to say them. Whenever there is a loud noise, I tell him 'it's okay.' Last week I was preoccupied and didn't notice the noisy truck rolling by, but I heard Joey telling himself 'it's okay, it's okay.'
