For the past four days, I have been fighting a horrorific cold/flu that's had me down for the count. Because of that, cooking food is the last thing I've had on my mind.
I have had little appetite, and so I haven't eaten much. I figured I would have some chicken or beef soup.
So I bought a bunch of assorted Progresso and Campbell's Chunky soups, and much to my surprise they tasted like almost pure salt! The huge amounts of salt they put into the sauces to add fake "flavor" was really obvious after I'd almost discontinued eating prepared foods for over a month.
I had been told about this phenomenon, that you would lose your taste for processed food once you started eating "the real deal", and it does indeed appear to be true.
Interesting!
