Filipinos are legendary for being late.
Entrepeneur John Gokongwei, Jr wanted to change all that. You might say his whole family of companies is a screamingly loud indictment against the infamous Filipino sloppiness, but this seems especially true of Cebu Pacific, with its gleaming new planes and slick service.
Their new slogan is "Our time is the new Filipino time", an allusion to their commitments to running their flights and operation in a very un-Filipino way: On time.
And, in the two times I used the airline, they did it.
I was impressed.
I was even more impressed when I noticed that any time I saw an enterprise that seemed especially well run, like the Robinson's malls and Cebu Pacific, they were part of his group.

A curious airline meal, from Cebu Pacific. The beverage was good, the cookie, rather less so.
On the way back, I got a different but good beverage, but sadly the same cookie. I think it still sits, uneaten, somewhere in my bag.
