I have been writing most of my life -- wrote my first short story when I was eight. I'm currently working on a novel. I have had lots of articles published, mostly about parrots, but my true love is fiction.

So what are you working on?

It requires quite a bit of writing, although most of it is bug reports. And I've been trying to get pithy with my help text so that people will actually read it.

Add amazing.com to your interests and you'll see the online communities I have on the subject of bugs. That has lots of my writing although very little of it is all that good :-).

Once I get used to my new job and new hours, I'm going to try to schedule some daily time to write. I don't need to be at work until 2:30 pm, so my mornings will be free to do what I want.

A mystery. I mean, it is going to be a mystery book. I started it years ago, and have been re-reading it. I still like what I've done, although it will need some updating.

I suppose I could, but I don't want to. Besides, the main character works as a temp. My recent experience with temp agencies would be useful to describe the whole temp experience, which needed some work.

It was just different. I didn't expect all the tests -- Word, Excel, etc. Plus they all made me watch a video about sexual harrassment. They were all pretty nice. One of them found me the Job from Hell, where I lasted two days. I guess I expected a typing test and an interview or something like that.

Actually, they didn't listen very well. I kept telling them that I wanted to work somewhere between Camarillo and Westlake, and they kept trying to send me to Agoura. I went there a couple of times, and it was too much hassle...

are a bit remote and maybe there aren't many jobs there.

I guess you need to know more than simple typing nowadays.

Actually, I used Windows at my last job, so it's not a problem. I would prefer to use a Mac, of course. One job I interviewed for actually involved a Mac, but he was looking for someone with lots of Illustrator experience.
